For this essay I’m going to focus on the different software that are used in order to support business decision systems and compare which ones can optimize not only the accuracy but also the efficiency of the business decision-making process. Business models and software development models are two different things from two different academic areas, however I’d like to understand the integration of the two, by looking at different software that’s designed to support decision-making process.
The implementation of new information technologies (IT) has been a key factor in company development in recent years. Therefore, firms must be equipped for the correct management of this new resource and effectively confront the challenges posed by its adoption. Software such as SAS, SQL, SSIS, Oracle for Business Intelligent, MATLAB, Python, Quartz, are often used for predicative models, decision-making, and business analytics.
Various software development life-cycle models can be mapped to business decision models by mapping business decision gates and major development milestones. Two well-known life-cycle models have been mapped to the ABB Gate Model, a business decision model for product development projects that was developed to ensure that released products could be successfully deployed into the marketplace.
In this essay I aim to compare the software mentioned above from a business decision model optimization perspective and analyze their characteristics in order to better understand the philosophy of business decision making, as well as the most trendy software that are utilized by industrial and business companies today.
